This notice explains how Shipped collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you join our pre-launch waitlist at start-shipping.co.za.

What we collect, and why

For the waitlist we collect only your email address, which you give us voluntarily. We use it for a single purpose: to email you when Shipped launches and occasional related updates. We do not use it for any other purpose without asking you first.

Our lawful basis

We process your email on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the waitlist form. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see “Your choices” below); withdrawing it does not affect processing done before you withdrew.

Who we share it with

We use Supabase (supabase.com) as our database provider to store the waitlist. Supabase processes the data on our instructions under its own security obligations. We do not sell your information or share it for advertising.

Cross-border transfer

Supabase may process data on infrastructure located outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we rely on the recipient being subject to laws or binding agreements that provide an adequate level of protection, as required by section 72 of POPIA.

How long we keep it

We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until the waitlist is no longer needed (for example, a reasonable period after launch), whichever comes first.

How we protect it

We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. The site is served over HTTPS, and the waitlist credentials are held server-side and never exposed to your browser.

Your choices and rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, and to stop processing it. Every launch email includes a one-click unsubscribe. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@start-shipping.co.za. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).

We may update this notice as the product evolves. The date at the top reflects the latest version.
